This project involves the use of remote sensing, electrical conductivity measurements, soil analysis, and plant sampling to develop methods of site specific management of soil salinity, irrigation application, and fertilization for San Joaquin Valley cotton. Primary work so far has focused on the development of remote sensing methods for California cotton production. This first phase has been essentially complted, and we are now working on integrating remotely sensed information with other data for management purposes. Our current focus is on the management of amendments for salintiy and sodicity, and on variable rate application of nitrogen.
