Integration
of molecular marker technology and genomics tools with conventional breeding
methods in the development of improved crops with higher yield, better quality,
increased economic and nutritive value, and resistance to biotic and abiotic
stresses
o
Provided
technical leadership in establishing, preparing, implementing, coordinating,
managing, and reviewing rice breeding projects
o
Involved
with collaborative projects dealing with genetics of important agronomic traits,
pyramiding resistance genes using molecular markers, shuttle breeding, genotype
x environment interaction analyses using regression, AMMI and pattern analysis,
and crop modeling

Streamlined
the use of molecular markers that lead to more efficient, faster, and
high-throughput genotyping and developed procedures for efficient screening of
rice lines for cold tolerance using growth chamber and greenhouse facilities

studies on genetics of cold tolerance in rice and developed a large population
