Rice Quality
The many uses of rice both domestically and for export, require that quality be evaluated according to its suitability for specific end uses. Quality is based on a combination of subjective and objective factors. Whether rice is acceptable for an intended use is determined by quality testing based on a fixed set of criteria. How these are ranked in importance in evaluating quality depends largely on the consumer. A rice quality workshop was held in 2003 to provide information to a large audience.
