Students Get Hands-On Opportunities in Plant Sciences

Students in vegetable field

Undergraduate students studying plant sciences and related subjects at UC Davis get plenty of field experience in plant production, including field trips, and hearing from growers about potential careers in plant sciences.

Vegetable Crop Production (PLS 110) is taught fall quarter by Dr. Jeffrey Mitchell, a faculty member and Cooperative Extension Specialist. Not only do students engage in field research at UC Davis, but they get to go on field trips to commercial vegetable production sites in California. The students also produce videos on educational topics in crop production.

Here is an overview video of the course, produced by students. Additional student-made videos will be posted in the near future.
