For the second PLANET seminar of the quarter, Nicolas Castellon, CEO of MIIDO, will present MIIDO, a bilingual WhatsApp-based tool that helps farmers and field crews see what real-time inputs the farm needs. By turning on-farm sensor data and other measurements into simple usable information, MIIDO helps reduce fertilizer waste, protect water quality and support better decisions in the field. There will be a short trivia and a raffle with prizes from local Davis businesses, Rocknasium and Easy Wind!
The PLANET Seminar Series (Practical Learning About New Environmental Technologies) is a seminar series hosted by the Association for Women in Science (AWIS) Sacramento Valley and the UC Davis Student Farm. This series is geared towards undergraduate and graduate students interested in careers at the intersection of agriculture and environmental science, with a focus on sustainability and emerging technologies that mitigate negative environmental impacts.
