Paul Thompson will speak on, "Archetypes for agricultural ethics." He is the author of "What is Agriculture for?  Ethical archetypes for future food systems." He is a professor  and the W. K. Kellogg Chair in Agricultural, Food and Community Ethics, in the
Department of Agricultural, Food and Resource Economics at Michigan State University.

Thompson is considered a pioneer in the field, having "planted some of the first seeds of philosophy of agriculture, and whose work inspires interdisciplinary scholarship in food ethics, biotechnology and environmental philosophy," according to this summary from Springer Nature Link.

This event is part of our Alternatives in Agriculture lecture series, and everyone is welcome to attend. Students can receive credit for PLS 190.
