Anna Joe is a research specialist and Maria Rottersman is a doctoral student, in the lab of Jorge Dubcovsky, a distinguished professor in the department focused on the development of small grains.
Sonja Hess will present "An Overview of the CGIAR Science Program on Better Diets and Nutrition" and share findings from ongoing studies in Tanzania and Sri Lanka. Hess is interim director for the UC Davis Institute of Global Nutrition.
Amber Jolly is a postdoctoral researcher in the lab of Tom Buckley, a professor in the department. Buckley also will discuss his research, which focuses on physiology, ecology and biophysics of plant responses to environmental stress.
Cameron Pittelkow will discuss "Cropping Systems Analysis to Balance Productivity and Sustainability." Pittelkow is a professor in the UC Davis Department of Plant Science.
Kyle Rizzo will talk about, "Linking Structure and Function in Optimal Plant Water Economy." He's a Ph.D. student with the horticulture and agronomy graduate group and studying with Brian Bailey in the UC Davis Plant Simulation Laboratory.
Paul Skillin will discuss, "Shared and Tissue-Specific Genetic Resistance to Neopestalotiopsis in Strawberry." He is a Ph.D. candidate in the lab of Mitchell Feldmann, director of the UC Davis Strawberry Breeding Program.
