Ann Filmer is Communications Director in the Department of Plant Sciences, and formerly in the Dean's Office, College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, both at UC Davis. Prior to those positions, she was an Environmental Horticulture Advisor with UC Cooperative Extension (UC ANR).
She has a Ph.D. degree (Plant Physiology) and an M.S. degree (Environmental Horticulture) from UC Davis, and a B.S. degree (Horticulture) from the Pennsylvania State University. Her academic expertise is postharvest physiology and landscape/ornamental plant production.
Filmer serves on the board of directors of the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden, and on the board of directors of the Davis Farmers Market Alliance (Davis, California). In 2019, she was appointed by the Secretary of the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA), Karen Ross, to serve on the statewide CDFA Farmers Market Advisory Board.
